COWGIRL

Three city friends convene on a fracking ranch in Wyoming for a wild western wedding—but when Lila unearths Cowgirls, a relic of a feminist board-game-without-a-board, all bets on a seamless wedding are off. The game’s provocative questions threaten to unravel the tender secrets and dark desires that lurk just beneath the surface of these friendships. Cowgirl is a queer, passionate, and transformative dark comedy that gallops its way through questions of identity, the temptations of fracking, and the permanence of mustard stains. Oh, and one more thing: beware The Aunts.

COCKROACHES
by Emma Schillage
A Southern Gothic dark comedy about three sisters trapped in their childhood home grappling with their mother's most recent suicide attempt. Momma has been acting strange since coming home from the hospital, causing eldest daughter, Jenny, to come home from college, middle child, Charlie, to act out, and youngest child, Sissy, to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Meanwhile, monsters are lurking, ready to consume every bit of innocence in their path. As their mother's humanity fades, the sisters must learn to care for themselves and each other before it is too late. Cockroaches explores how we create monsters, survive them, punish them, and learn from them in the wake of disaster.

Author of the New York Times Editors’ Choice novel The Lookback Window, Hertz's writing has appeared in Esquire, Interview, and Time. He teaches fiction at The New School.

An internationally produced playwright and actor, Hubbard is a recipient of the American Theatre Critics Association's Steinberg New Play Award Citation, with multiple Richmond Theatre Critics Circle honors and nominations.
JUSTIN HALLE
COWGIRL
A queer playwright and Columbia MFA graduate, Halle's Vile Isle earned praise from The New York Times. Their work has been developed by Page 73, La MaMa, and The Tank.

COCKROACHES
An award-winning Southern Gothic playwright, Schillage blends horror, whimsy, and the complexities of growing up in the Deep South. Their work has been recognized by the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center.
