Kin is a story about how connection and community evolve across time, distance, and generations. At its heart, it's an intimate ensemble piece that demands trust, generosity, and deep collaboration from everyone involved. That spirit reflects the foundation of Making Our Space and the kind of artistic community we're committed to building. There could not have been a more fitting inaugural production, as Kin embodies not only the kinds of stories we hope to tell, but also the way we aspire to make them: with empathy, curiosity, and a steadfast belief in theatre's power to bring people together, in community.

OUR FIRST PRODUCTION.

In December 2024, Kin became our company's inaugural full production. The process brought together a company of nine actors and a creative team of independent theatre artists for a two-and-a-half week run at The Chain Theatre in Midtown Manhattan. It was wildly ambitious, but audience and critical reviews proved we could make Broadway-quality theatre in an Off-Off Broadway blackbox.
